LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Glascock County High School’s (Ga.) Grace Kelley was named MaxPreps/NFCA High School Player of the Week and is being recognized for her outstanding performance during the week of Oct. 16-22.
Kelley was nearly unhittable as she helped the Panthers to three wins last week. The senior hurler scattered three hits as she twirled 21 shutout innings with 33 strikeouts and no walks. Kelley posted a pair of shutouts against Schley County, including a 10-inning gem that saw her fan 12 and allow two base knocks. In her other start against the Wildcats, Kelley tossed a three-hit shutout with 10 punchouts. She also recorded a four-inning perfect game with 11 strikeouts against Towns County.
MaxPreps.com, the official high school statistical provider of the NFCA, provides all statistics for the NFCA High School Player of the Week award. To nominate a player for the award, the coach must enter his or her athlete's game stats into MaxPreps.com by Sunday evening to be eligible for that week’s award.
The MaxPreps/NFCA High School Player of the Week is announced on NFCA.org every Monday during the fall season.
