LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Pocola High School’s (Okla.) Allyssa Parker was named 2024 MaxPreps/NFCA National High School Fall Player of the Week. She is being recognized for her outstanding play for the week of Sept. 30-Oct. 6.
Parker keyed Pocola, the No. 2 ranked program in the NFCA Summer/Fall High School Top 25 Coaches Poll, to three wins last week, including two in the Class 2A super regionals which advanced the Indians to the state tournament. The senior went 3-0 with 0.00 ERA and 26 strikeouts in 14 innings, surrendering five hits and walking two. Parker also contributed at the plate, going 7-for-8 (.875) with all seven hits going for extra bases, including two triples and four long balls. She also doubled, drove in eight runs, scored seven times and drew three walks.
In her two super regional starts, Parker held Hobart scoreless over eight innings on three hits with 14 punchouts and one walk. She went 3-for-3 with a double, two home runs, three RBI and four runs scored in game two. Earlier in the week, Parker sent two over the fence and drove in five runs against Broken Bow. In the circle, she struck out 12, walked one and surrendered two unearned runs in six innings against the Savages.
