LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Grand Island Northwest’s (Neb.) Abby Dinkelman and Tahlequah’s (Okla.) Zoie Griffin earned the latest GameChanger/NFCA Fall High School National Player and Pitcher of the Week honors of the 2026 season, the Association announced on Monday.
Senior right-hander Griffin tossed two complete-game one-hitters and fanned 27 batters in a pair of victories for the (18-2) Tigers, who have won 12 straight games.
She struck out 16 and walked one over seven innings in the circle on Tuesday, then whiffed 11 more over five frames on Thursday versus Coweta. In the latter game, the reigning Gatorade Oklahoma Player of the Year and Texas A&M commit Griffin helped herself at the plate, going 4-for-4 with a double.
Sophomore shortstop Dinkelman continued her torrid play for the (8-1) Vikings, who have won their last seven and are ranked 21st in the latest GameChanger/NFCA Summer-Fall High School Top 25 Coaches Poll.
She was 8-for-9 (.889) over three Saturday contests with two doubles, two triples, five RBI and eight runs scored. Dinkelman was perfect at the plate against both Aurora (five hits) and Norfolk (three hits) and walked twice in three plate appearances versus Kearney.
Her teammate, Graclyn Simmons, was the GameChanger/NFCA National Pitcher honoree last week.
