LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Smithville’s (Mo.) Shelby Callahan and Putnam County’s (Mo.) Rory Gilworth garnered the latest GameChanger/NFCA Fall High School National Player and Pitcher of the Week honors of the 2026 season, the Association announced on Monday.
Senior shortstop Callahan batted .857 to help fuel a 3-1 week for the Warriors. She went 12-of-14 with 10 runs, five doubles, a triple, two home runs, nine RBI and two stolen bases.
Callahan struck out just once in 16 plate appearances and also recorded eight assists and two putouts on defense. She delivered stellar numbers despite having playing 17 games in the last 17 days.
Gilworth, meanwhile, recorded double-digit strikeouts in three straight games and notched the 500th of her career this past week. The junior right-hander fanned 19 in a 4-2 victory over Schuyler County on Monday, then struck out 18 the next day in a 2-1 triumph over Gallatin. She closed her week with 13 strikeouts in a 5-0 Thursday loss to South Harrison.
She has 157 strikeouts so far this season, reduced her ERA to 0.87 and dropped her WHIP to .881.
