LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Miller Grove's (Ga.) Amiyah Morrison captured the first 2024 MaxPreps/NFCA National High School Fall Player of the Week award. The senior pitcher is being recognized for her outstanding play for the week of Aug. 19-25.
Morrison lifted Miller Grove to three victories last week as she did not allow a hit over 11 innings of work, while also batting .857 and scoring nine runs. Morrison struck out 29 of the 39 batters she faced, surrendered an unearned run and issued two walks. She fanned a week-high 12 batters (zero walks) against Redan. Morrison also struck out eight and nine batters against Salem and Arabia Mountain, respectively. At the plate, she was 3-for-3 with a double, three RBI and four runs scored versus Salem, while adding three RBI against Arabia Mountain and scoring three times versus Redan.

The MaxPreps/NFCA High School Player of the Week is announced on NFCA.org every Monday during the spring season.
