LOUISVILLE, Ky. – IMG Academy’s (Fla.) Shyann Jenkins, Fort Bend Clements’ (Texas) Alice Floyd and Foothill’s (Calif.) Myra Galzie captured the latest MaxPreps/NFCA National High School Spring Player of the Week awards of the 2026 season, the Association announced on Monday. They are being recognized for their outstanding play for the week of Feb. 23-March 1.
Jenkins went 5-for-5 with three home runs, four runs scored and five runs batted in for the Ascenders in a loss to Venice to score this week’s South Region honors. The junior shortstop and No. 5 hitter also singled twice in the contest for IMG, which is playing its inaugural season of high school softball.
In the South Central, Floyd collected five extra-base hits over two games, going a perfect 7-for-7 at the plate for the Rangers. The freshman shortstop also drove in six runs and walked once, while not striking out in her eight plate appearances. Floyd had four hits, three triples and five RBI versus Fort Bend Bush, and doubled and tripled among her three hits against Fort Bend Dulles.
The West winner was Falcons’ pitcher Galzie, who tossed a no-hitter and a two-hitter in a pair of 4-0 victories. The sophomore righty fanned 14 and walked one in Tuesday’s seven-inning gem against Kennedy, and followed that up with 11 more strikeouts and just two hits allowed in a complete game on Thursday versus Arroyo.
