LOUISVILLE, Ky. – East Side Community’s (N.Y.) Gabriella Massucci, Sharon’s (Pa.) Madelyn Vogan, University’s (W. Va.) Sophia Lehosit, Boyd’s (Texas) Abby Atkinson and Estancia’s (N.M.) Lucia Chavez captured the latest MaxPreps/NFCA National High School Spring Player of the Week awards of the 2026 season, the Association announced on Monday. They are being recognized for their outstanding play for the week of March 16-22.

Massucci batted .833 (5-for-6) with five runs, a triple, three home runs and 10 RBI for the Tigers to earn East Region honors. She homered and drove in two against Baruch College High last Tuesday, then went 4-for-4 with four runs, a triple, two homers and eight RBI versus Roosevelt two days later.

In the North, Vogan fanned 28 and walked none over 12 innings in the circle for the Tigers. The junior allowed just four hits and zero runs in a pair of victories, while also helping herself at the plate with a .400 average, homer and two RBI. Vogan tossed a five-inning no-hitter (13 strikeouts) versus Karns City on Thursday and fanned 15 more Saturday in a four-hitter against LaBrae.

Lehosit was the leader in the South Region, pitching a no-hitter and a one-hitter for the Hawks. The senior struck out 10 and walked one in a four-inning no-hitter against Preston, then limited Oak Glen to one hit while fanning eight and walking one. She also was 8-of-9 at the plate, with a double, three triples and six RBI.

South Central honors went to Atkinson after striking out 29 and allowing one hit while walking one over 12 combined innings in the circle for the Yellowjackets. She had a five-inning no-hitter (10 strikeouts) versus Valley View and fanned 19 over seven innings in a one-hitter against Ponder. She also was 4-for-7 at the plate with a pair of doubles and eight RBI.

Chavez garnered West Region recognition after leading her Bears to a pair of lopsided victories. The senior went 3-for-3 in both games, with a double, homer and four RBI against Moriarty, and two triples, a homer and three RBI in her second contest of the week.
