LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Somerset Academy South Homestead’s (Fla.) Destiny Polles, Jefferson’s (Texas) Elizabella Quinonez and Patoma Valley’s (Calif.) Kaydence Koepsell captured the latest MaxPreps/NFCA National High School Spring Player of the Week awards of the 2026 season, the Association announced on Monday. They are being recognized for their outstanding play for the week of March 2-8.

Polles went 8-for-8 with seven runs, two doubles, a triple, two home runs, no strikeouts and 10 runs batted in for the Hurricanes, scoring this week’s South Region honors. The sophomore had five hits, including a triple, two homers and seven RBI against Hialeah Educational Academy last Monday. She collected three more hits (two doubles) and three RBI, and stole four bases the following day versus Varela.

In the South Central, Quinonez batted 1.000 (6-for-6) with eight runs, a triple, two walks and four RBI for the Silver Foxes. The sophomore was 3-for-3 with four runs and two RBI last Tuesday versus Horizon, and was 3-for-3 with four more runs, a triple and two RBI against Irvin.

Koepsell was the West winner after a week in which she fanned 22 and allowed no earned runs, just two walks and four hits. The junior struck out nine and limited Santa Rosa Academy to two hits over four innings last Wednesday, and followed that with three strikeouts in one inning against Notre Dame on Thursday. Koepsell struck out 10, walked one and allowed one hit over five innings versus Chaparral to close out her week on Friday.
