Jaeda Diaz captured the latest MaxPreps/NFCA National High School Spring Player of the Week awards of the 2026 season, the Association announced on Monday. They are being recognized for their outstanding play for the week of April 27-May 3.
Dzialo struck out 23 batters over a pair of two-hit shutouts for the Cadets to earn East Region honors. The senior fanned 15 in an 8-0 victory over Norwalk last Monday, then struck out eight in a 12-0 rout of Ludlowe on Saturday.
In the North, Lee fanned a combined 31 in two three-hit shutouts for the Panthers. The junior struck out 15 in last Tuesday’s 8-0 triumph over Clear Lake, then fanned 16 two days later versus Elmwood/Plum City. She yielded no runs and just one walk over 14 innings in the circle.
Bass was the leader in the South Region, tossing a pair of five-inning no-hitters for the Cowboys. The senior fanned 14 on Tuesday against Aucilla Christian, then struck out 11 versus Hilliard. She walked one batter each game and allowed no runs.
South Central honors went to the Panthers’ Martinez, who was perfect at the plate (7-for-7) with a combined six runs, four doubles, a home run and 10 RBI on consecutive days against White. The senior doubled and drove in four runs in the first contest, and added three more doubles, a homer and six RBI in game two.
