LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Webster Schroeder’s (N.Y.) Liana DeValder, Von Steuben’s (Ill.) Skye Rojek, Doral Academy’s (Fla.) Anabela Abdullah, Cedar Vale/Dexter’s (Kan.) Zoe Davidson and Conrad’s (Mont.) Evagelene Denzer captured 2025 MaxPreps/NFCA National High School Spring Player of the Week honors on Wednesday afternoon. They are being recognized for their outstanding play during the week of April 28-May 4.
DeValder earned East Region honors, picking up three victories — including two shutouts — in the circle for the Warriors. Over 16 innings, the senior allowed just one hit and one unearned run, walking none and striking out 14. She tossed no-hitters against Greece Odyssey (nine strikeouts) and Fairport, and had a one-hitter versus Victor.
Meanwhile, Rojek went 7-for-7 with four doubles, four runs and six RBI for the Panthers to claim top honors in the North. The freshman collected three doubles and three RBI in the first game of a twinbill with Chicago Academy and then went 4-for-4 in the nightcap.
In the South, Abdullah was the winner following a 5-for-5 week at the plate for the Firebirds. The junior also scored five runs, and had a triple, two homers and four RBI.
Davidson was the choice in the South Central, going 2-0 with a 0.00 ERA, zero runs and walks, two hits allowed and 20 strikeouts over 10 innings for the Spartans. The sophomore fanned 11 batters in a five-inning one-hitter against Sedan, and struck out five over three innings and four over two innings in her other two appearances.
In the West, Denzer was 5-for-5 with five runs, four doubles, two walks and seven RBI for the Cowboys. The senior had three doubles and five RBI alone in a victory over Cut Bank.
