LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Academy of Science and Innovation’s (Conn.) Mia Peterson, Denmark’s (Wis.) Addison Pinchart, Appomattox County’s (Va.) Paisley Mann, Oak Ridge’s (Mo.) Kaelyn Deckerd and Northgate’s (Calif.) Ashley Herman captured the latest MaxPreps/NFCA National High School Spring Player of the Week awards of the 2026 season, the Association announced on Monday. They are being recognized for their outstanding play for the week of May 25-31.
Peterson went 7-for-8 with six runs scored, three doubles, a triple, home run and eight RBI for the Ravens to pace all East Region players. She had five hits, scored four runs and drove in five with a double, triple and homer last Tuesday versus University, then 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and three RBI two days later against Parish Hill.
In the North, Pinchart was a perfect 7-for-7 with two doubles, two solo homers and 10 RBI for the Vikings. The senior singled in her only at-bat last Tuesday against Little Chute, then had identical 3-for-3 efforts in a pair of contests Thursday versus Two Rivers, with a double, homer and five RBI in each.
Mann was the South Region leader, striking out 14 of the 17 batters she faced in a five-inning no-hitter against Glenvar. The senior walked one in the contest to further enhance her strikeout-to-walk ratio (5.68) this season for the Raiders.
South Central honors went to Deckerd, who fanned 31 of the 49 batters she faced over 14 innings in the circle for the Blue Jays. The sophomore struck out 17 and walked none in a two-hitter versus Plato last Monday, then tossed another two-hitter and had 14 strikeouts and no walks in a Tuesday triumph over Kingsville.
Herman garnered West Region recognition, striking out 30 in a pair of Bronco shutouts. The senior had a four-hitter against Salesian College Prep on Wednesday, then no-hit Foothill on Saturday. Herman fanned 15 in each game.
