LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Doherty’s (Worcester, Mass.) Eden Forget, Tri’s (Straughn, Ind.) Kierstyn Conyers, Wewahitchka’s (Fla.) Brianna Bailey, Bishop Lynch’s (Dallas, Texas) Riley Cantrell and Middleton’s (Id.) Mariah Jenkins of were selected MaxPreps/NFCA National High School Players of the Week for games played the week of April 23-29.

East Region
Forget tossed two three-hit shutouts and hit .500 with a triple home run and five RBI to lead Doherty to three wins last week. The sophomore hurler fanned a season-high 11 and walked one in a victory over South. She also helped herself out by going 2-for-3 with a triple and long ball. In her other start, she struck out three, walked two and recorded a hit in a 1-0 win over St. Peter-Marian. She capped her week off with a home run, two RBI in a victory over Burncoat.

North Region
Conyers hit .833 (10-for-12) with three doubles, a triple, three home runs, 16 RBI and a 2.000 slugging percentage. She also scored seven times and recorded a .846 on-base percentage as Whitney Young picked up three wins last week. Conyers’ big performance came against Hagerstown in which she was 4-for-4 with a double, two round trippers and nine RBI. She hit a grand slam and drove in four runs in a 6-4 triumph against Shenandoah. The senior ended her tremendous week with two doubles, a triple, three RBI and two runs scored versus Morristown.

South Region
Bailey tossed a perfect game as she went 2-0 with two shutouts and 29 strikeouts leading the Gators to a pair of victories. She tossed her perfect game against Port St. Joe, striking out 16 of 21 batters faced in a 9-0 win. Bailey, a senior, followed that with a two-hit shutout in a 3-0 victory over Bozeman. She fanned 13 and did not walk a batter to improve to 21-1 in the circle this year.

South Central Region
Cantrell, a senior, was nearly perfect at the plate, going 13-for-14 (.929) with four home runs, two doubles and triple, 18 RBI and 12 runs scored. She drew five walks, recorded a .900 on-base percentage and slugged 2.071. Cantrell put forth a steady performance over a five-game stretch, recording five multi-hit and multi-RBI games, while homering in four of those contests. She drove in a season-high five runs with two doubles in an 11-7 win over Bishop Dunne. Cantrell homered, registered four RBI and scored three time in victories over Ursuline Academy and Prestonwood Christian, respectively. She also left the yard against Liberty Christian and Trinity Christian.

West Region
Jenkins was a perfect 10-for-10 with three doubles and home runs, seven RBI and nine runs scored, leading the Vikings to a 3-0 week. The senior first baseman drove in four runs and scored five times, while doubling and homering against Mountain Home. She went 4-for-4 with a double, three runs scored and two RBI versus Caldwell. Jenkins added three walks to reach base in all 13 plate appearances to go along with a 1.600 slugging  percentage.
