LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Riding a program-best 26-game winning streak, Texas ascended to No. 1 in this week’s 2026 NFCA/GoRout Division I Top 25 Coaches Poll. The Longhorns (28-1), who have not lost since the third game of the season (Nebraska), earned all but one first-place vote and sit atop the rankings for the first time since being voted the 2026 preseason favorites.
Texas stepped out of conference play last week, taking care of business against instate and former Big 12 foe Baylor. The Longhorns trumped the Bears in a pair of run-rule affairs (10-2, 10-0). The win streak is the longest active in Division I and is tied with Colorado Christian (DII) for the longest across the three NCAA divisions.
Texas wasn’t the only program to make moves as the entire top six are in different sports this week. Texas Tech and Florida come in at No. 2 and No. 3 following wins against nationally-ranked opponents. The Red Raiders (30-2) picked up three road wins at then-No. 24 UCF in Big 12 action, while the Gators (31-2) knocked Tennessee out of the driver’s seat with a pair of victories over the Lady Vols (28-3) in a top-five matchup at Katie Seashole Pressly Stadium. After the Lady Vols earned a 2-1 win in the series opener, the Gators rebounded with 5-2 and 3-2 wins. With those two defeats, Tennessee dipped to No. 4.
Oklahoma pushed itself back into the top five as the fifth-ranked Sooners (31-2) ran their win streak to 20 games with three road wins last week. OU scored a combined 39 runs against Memphis and Ole Miss and pitched a shutout against each opponent.
Alabama went 3-1 last week and dropped to No. 6. The Crimson Tide (29-2) topped ULM 4-1 in a midweek matchup before taking the Southeastern Conference series at Missouri. In a closely-contested series, Alabama won games one and three by one run with the Tigers taking game two, 5-2.
The final four programs stayed the same as No. 7 UCLA (27-3), No. 8 Florida State (28-4), No. 9 Nebraska (24-5) and No. 10 Arkansas (27-4) went a combined 12-0 last week. The Bruins, Seminoles and Huskers extended their win streaks to 21, 17 and 14 games, respectively.
No. 17 Grand Canyon (33-1), the last of the undefeated DI programs, suffered its first loss of the season, falling to new-no. 21 Oklahoma State, 10-5 in a mid-week matchup. The Lopes did rebound with a Mountain West sweep of San Jose State.
Two programs made their way back into the rankings as No. 24 Duke (22-10) returns after a two-week hiatus, while No. 25 Washington (26-6) makes its 2026 debut and first ranking since Feb. 11, 2025. The Blue Devils have won nine of their last 10 after thumping UNCW and sweeping Georgia Tech in ACC action. The Huskies are on a 16-game win streak after they blanked North Dakota and took all three from Michigan in Big Ten play.
Making way for this week’s newcomers was then-No. 24 UCF (24-10) and then-No. 25 Clemson (22-10).
