LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Following a wild week in which everyone in the top-five lost, Oklahoma remained No. 1 in this week’s 2026 NFCA/GoRout Division I Top 25 Coaches Poll. Six different programs – No. 1 Oklahoma (12), No. 2 Texas Tech (4), No. 3 Alabama (7), Nebraska (4), Florida (2), UCLA (2) - earned at least two first-place votes with the top three teams separated by five total points.
The Sooners (42-6) were handed two defeats last week as new-No. 18 Oklahoma State won Bedlam, 6-4, in front of 7,826 spectators at Devon Park in Oklahoma City. After OU and then-No. 8 Arkansas each won a pair of one-run games, the Sooners clinched the series with an 11-1 triumph over the Razorbacks.
No. 2 Texas Tech, No. 3 Alabama and previous-No. 4 Florida all suffered losses to unranked teams. The Red Raiders (42-4) stepped out of conference last week and posted road wins at Utah State and UTSA before being shut out by Texas State, 3-0. The Crimson Tide (42-4) were edged on the road by Samford, 3-2, but rebounded with a sweep of Kentucky, which included a pair of shutouts.
The Gators (43-6) and Texas (34-7) slipped to No. 5 and 6. UF posted a 3-1 week as it topped Florida Gulf Coast, 9-6, and took two-out-of-three from Auburn at home in SEC action. The Longhorns (34-7) split the first two games of their SEC series at No. 15 Georgia and are just 4-6 over their last 10 games.
Surpassing Florida and Texas and entering the top five for the first time in 2026 is No. 4 Nebraska. The Huskers (36-6) ran their winning streak to 11 games with a convincing three-game sweep at Minnesota, outscoring the Gophers, 32-4.
Climbing up the ladder to No. 6 are the Bruins (41-5) as they continued to light up the scoreboard with four more wins by a combined score of 62-21, including a 27-9 thumping of Long Beach State. UCLA has won 12 straight.
No. 8 Tennessee and No. 9 Arkansas also fell this week. The Lady Vols (37-7) topped Kentucky on April 13 to complete the series sweep and fell on the road to new-No. 14 Duke, while Razorbacks dropped their series to the Sooners in Norman.
No. 10 Florida State rebounded from its sweep at Stanford by taking care of business against North Carolina.
No. 16 Stanford rose four more spots after sweeping a second straight top-25 series, while No. 14 Duke and No. 18 Oklahoma State each improved on their rankings by three positions. The Blue Devils (35-12) have won nine of their last 10 after the victory over Tennessee and a decisive sweep of Boston College (12-2, 17-4, 17-6). Along with winning Bedlam, the Cowgirls (30-12) took two-of-three from then-ranked No. 16 Arizona in Big 12 play.
No. 17 Mississippi State, No. 19 Arizona, and No. 23 Virginia took the biggest hits this week. The Cavaliers, who were 12th just three weeks ago, tumbled down the poll five more positions after being sweep on the road by an unranked Clemson squad. The Bulldogs were swept by new-No. 11 Texas A&M, while the Wildcats (31-13).
