LOUISVILLE, Ky. – An unhittable Keely Rochard of Virginia Tech and Nebraska slugger Tristen Edwards earned 2019 Louisville/Slugger NFCA Division I National Pitcher and Player of the Week honors for the week of Feb. 11-17.

Rochard, a sophomore from Williamsburg, Va., tossed consecutive no-hitters last weekend at the Wingate by Wyndham Invitational. She picked up a pair of wins, striking out 22 and walking three batters over 12 innings of work. Rochard opened the weekend with five hitless innings (9K, 1 BB) against Detroit Mercy. She followed that by matching her season-high of 13 strikeouts in a win over host Charleston Southern. In 31 innings this season, the two-time ACC Pitcher of the Week has yet to allow a single run and surrendered just six hits.

Edwards clubbed five home runs, drove in 14 and slugged 1.917 helping the Huskers sweep four games during the ACC/Big Ten Challenge. In the final game against Pittsburgh, the junior infielder was 4-for-4, launched two home runs, including a grand slam, tied a single-game record with eight RBI and scored four times. Edwards, the Big Ten Player of the Week, left the yard twice and registered three RBI against host North Carolina State. Edwards added another long ball and three RBI in Nebraska’s first game versus the Panthers. For the weekend, she hit .583, with eight runs scored and a .667 on-base percentage.
