LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Riding a 12-game win streak, West Texas A&M takes over the top spot in this week’s NFCA/GoRout Division II Top 25 Coaches Poll. The Lady Buffs (25-3) grabbed hold of the pole position unanimously after the previous No. 1 team, Cal State San Marcos, split a California Collegiate Athletic Association series with Chico State.
WT is back at No. 1 a position it held for three weeks in 2025 and five weeks in 2024. The Lady Buffs posted four big Lone Star Conference wins last week at home, outscoring St. Edward’s and St. Mary’s by a combined score of 41-3.
San Marcos slipped to No. 2 following its split with Chico State. The Cougars (24-3) split both doubleheaders winning game two and three of the series with the Wildcats.
Missouri Southern has now won eight straight and leapfrogged an idle Cal State East Bay for No. 3. The Lions (25) knocked off St. Cloud State and Sioux Falls in a pair of twinbills during the MIAA/NSIC Crossover in Joplin, Mo.
No. 5 North Georgia (23-4), No. 6 AUM (22-4) and No. 7 Southern Arkansas (26-2) remained in their spots for another week with Saint Leo moving into the No. 8 position and UIndy cracking the top-10 at No. 9. The eighth-ranked Lions ran their win streak to 17 games, while the seventh-ranked Muleriders and ninth-ranked Greyhounds have each won 12 straight.
Pitt State (26-1) and McKendree (23-5) made the biggest moves inside the rankings, elevating five spots to No. 11 and 16, respectively, while Lenoir Rhyne (17-5) returned to the top 25 at No. 15. Also coming back into the fold is No. 25 East Stroudsburg (12-6).
Then-No. 18 Rogers State (17-9) and then-No. 22 Florida Tech (19-6-1) dropped out of the rankings.
