LOUISVILLE, Ky. – West Texas A&M ran its win streak to 18 games and continues as the unanimous No. 1 team in this week’s NFCA/GoRout Division II Top 25 Coaches Poll. On the other end of the poll, No. 25 Franklin Pierce, out of the Northeast 10 Conference, is nationally ranked for the first time in program history.

WT (31-3) picked up two more Lone Star Conference victories, 13-5 and 3-2, at home against Eastern New Mexico. Currently 21-1 in league play, the first-place Lady Buffs host second-place UT Tyler and Texas Woman’s in a pair of LSC doubleheaders.

Franklin Pierce posted a 5-1 mark last week, seeing its 10-game win streak snapped at Bridgeport in a game two defeat, 6-5 in five innings. The Ravens (18-2), who are off to their best start in program history (tied with the 2022 team), have won 14 of their last 15 games and have started conference play 8-0.

No. 2 Cal State San Marcos swept its second consecutive four-game CCAA series, knocking off then-No. 25 Cal State Monterey Bay on the road. The Cougars (32-3) outscored the Otters (22-14), 41-19, which included a season-high 19 runs in a 19-6 series-opening win.

No. 3 North Georgia and No. 4 Pittsburg State each leaped past Auburn University at Montgomery, who comes in at No. 5 this week. The NightHawks (30-5) blanked Short in a mid-week twinbill and trumped Georgia Southwestern three times in a Peach Belt Conference sweep. The Gorillas (34-1) are the only one-loss program in Division II after they picked up a pair of MIAA doubleheader sweeps at Emporia State and Washburn to run their win streak to 14 games.

Fifth-ranked AUM (28-5) won its Gulf South Conference series at then-No. 15 West Florida, taking game one and three in a weekend that featured three one-run contests.

No. 6 Saint Leo (30-2-1) reached the 30-win mark and have won 25 straight following a Sunshine State Conference sweep of then-No. 24 Florida Tech to remain perfect in SSC play (15-0).

Cal State East Bay dipped to No. 7 after splitting its four CCAA games versus Cal Poly Humboldt, while Indianapolis moved up one spot to No. 8. No. 9 Missouri Southern climbed back into the top 10 and was joined by Colorado Christian at No. 10, the highest ranking this season for the Cougars (34-2), who own the longest win streak across all three NCAA divisions (30 games).

No. 11 Southern Arkansas (32-4) and No. 12 Angelo State (27-8) dropped out of the top 10. Other significant moves saw Francis Marion (31-10) jump five spots to No. 14 and No. 19 Lenoir-Rhyne (24-8) plummet six positions.

Carson-Newman (29-8) moved back into the rankings at No. 25 after winning six games last week.

Previously-mentioned Florida Tech and Cal State Monterey Bay both exited the top 25 this week.
