LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Redlands’ Katlyn Gandara and Pacific Lutheran’s Paola Garcia captured the latest Division III Wilson/NFCA Pitcher and Louisville Slugger/NFCA Player of the Week honors on Tuesday.

Gandara, a senior pitcher from Whittier, Calif., went 3-0 with a 0.00 ERA, 10 hits and no walks allowed, plus four strikeouts over 13 innings in the circle for the No. 7-ranked (23-4) Bulldogs. She also helped herself at the plate, going 7-for-10 with two doubles, a home run, two walks, nine RBI and a 1.200 slugging percentage.

Garcia, meanwhile, hit .423 (11-for-26) for the week with 10 runs, five homers, 12 RBI and 26 total bases for the (18-6) Lutes. The senior from Downey, Calif., also played flawlessly in the outfield, making 19 putouts and collecting one assist splitting time between her usual left field position and center field following an injury.
