LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Belhaven’s Macy Funderburk and Salisbury’s Karlie Wolfe earned the latest Division III Wilson/NFCA Pitcher and Louisville Slugger/NFCA Player of the Week honors, the Association announced on Tuesday.

Junior right-hander Funderburk was named the Most Valuable Player of the Collegiate Conference of the South tournament, leading the No. 9-ranked (37-9) Blazers to five straight victories after they dropped their opening game. The West Monroe, La., product fanned 22 batters and walked just four over 32 innings, appearing in all six games for Belhaven in the tourney. On Saturday, she limited No. 13 Huntingdon to five hits over 11 innings as the Blazers defeated them twice to claim the title.

Wolfe, meanwhile, hit six home runs in four games for the Sea Gulls. Four of those homers came against conference rival Christopher Newport, as the senior catcher clouted two homers in each end of their doubleheader. For the week, the Choptico, Md., native hit .600 (9-for-15) with a double, seven runs scored and 12 RBI.
