LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The National Fastpitch Coaches Association announced 103 student-athletes representing 47 programs received 2017 NFCA NJCAA DI All-Region accolades.
These awards honor softball student-athletes from the Association’s three regions with first- and second-team recognitions. NFCA member coaches from each region voted on the teams, and all honorees are now eligible for the 2017 NFCA NJCAA Division I All-American squads.
Seven programs- two-time national champions Butler Community College (West), Chipola College (South), College of Central Florida (South), Howard College (West), Lake Land College (Midwest), Seminole State College of Florida (South) and Tyler Junior College (Midwest) each had five selections. Florida SouthWestern State College and Yavapai College.
The Grizzlies and the Patriots had all five of their honorees on the first team, while the Hawks and Buccaneers garnered four first-team nods.
The 2017 NFCA NJCAA DI All-American teams will be announced on Thursday, June 7, via NFCA.org
