The NJCAA Softball Players and Pitchers of the Week were announced Wednesday by the NJCAA National Office for all games played during Week 8 of the season – March 13 -19.

The Division I awards were earned by freshman pitcher Mandy Lorenson of Pima (Ariz) and Savana Guidry – a sophomore shortstop for Lamar Port-Arthur (TX). In DII, Spoon River (Ill.) freshman shortstop Kaley Southard and sophomore Lexi Kinnaird of Kirkwood (IA) took home the accolades. Finally, the DIII was hauled in by Central Lakes’ freshman catcher Kaye Smude. There were no nominations for Division III pitcher of the week.
