Type: drill

Purpose: Execution of the fundamentals of team defensive situations.

Explanation: In this drill, you place your team in their defen- sive positions. The coach hits various types of ground balls, line drives, bunts, slaps and fly balls while yelling out differ- ent situations. The defense must execute the play flawlessly in order for an out to be recorded. You must then get to 21 outs consecutively without an error or mistake in order for the game to end. If at any point there is an error or mistake (i.e. someone forgets to backup a base), then we go back to zero. This drill is great for putting your defense in game-like pressure situations.
