Purpose: To filed and run bases correctly and ge the number down to zero.

Explanation: The catcher will start off the game by yelling "21." A full team is out on the field and we have baserunners. The baserunners are instructed to be very aggressive. The coach hits balls to everyone on the field. The ball must be fielded cleanly and all throws must be accurate. If the fielder(s) makes any mistakes, even if the runner is thrown out, the catcher yells, "Frozen at 6" (or whatever the number was). The number does not revert back to 21 yet, because errors do happen, and we want the players to know they can take risks. We just don't want two errors to happen in succesion. Once the next play is made, the number becomes "Unfrozen" and goes down after the next play if successful. Since this is "Advanced 21," any of the following plays can cause a number to be frozen or go back to 21: bad baserunning, no sliding, no communication, poor relays, no backing up, missing cuts, incorrect alignment. Sometimes the coaches will just say "frozen" because the athletes have to learn how to deal with undesirable call from umpires.

It may take many tries to get down to zero, but once the team does this, there is such a sense of satisfaction and the team feels it took everyone to accomplish this task.
