Categories: Base Running Situational Defense Hitting

Type: drill

Objective: This is a game that we use to get the players to swing correctly off a tee, get live defensive situations and also baserunning all at the same time.

Set Up: Twelve or more players are needed for this drill. Break the girls up into three teams of four. When a team is hitting, all eight other players will be in the field playing defense.

Execution: The objective of this is having three teams compete against each other in live situations. Set up the tee at home plate. The batter steps up and hits the ball, and all the other players must field the ball and try to get outs. This enables the offensive player to work on baserunning while also enabling the defense to try and prevent runs from occuring.

This drill also makes the outfielders hit cuts and take proper angles on hits to the gaps. The best part about the drill is that the players really enjoy it and they play hard to win.
