Type: drill
A way to get your team warmed-up for the game.
Execution:
Go through stretching exercises and arm warm-ups, then after completing them, proceed to the drill.
Group One (Corner): Players form a single line 30 feet from the hitter, between the grass and the base bath, near the dugout.
Group Two (Middle Infielders): Infielders form a single line 50 feet behind the first group.
Group Three (Outfielders): They form a single line in the outfield foul territory corner on the same side as the team dugout.
Hitter: Hit two ground balls to each member of Group One. After receiving the second ground ball, corner fielders move to the rear of the line. After the last player receives a second ball, the line moves to the side.
Group Two receives two ground balls each, rotating after the second one.
Group Three, the outfielders, will catch one fly ball on the run from the foul area to the playing field. They repeat this once.
Second Round
Repeat hitting two ground balls to Group One, Group Two and fly balls each to Group Three.
Third Round
Group One will receive one line drive, followed by a toss fly ball as they jog in and stand next to the catcher.
Group Two will do the same as Group One.
Group Three will have one fly ball followed by a ground ball as they job in, giving each member of Groups One and Two a high five.
After all players have jogged in, the groups come together for a team cheer. Then relocate the players to the team dugout.
