Several top teams suffered losses last weekend, but Alabama remains atop theUSA Today/NFCA Division I Top 25 Poll
for a third straight week. The Crimson Tide retained 10 first-place votes to stay at No. 1. First-place votes are now spread between the top-five schools, as No. 3 Washington jumped four spots in the poll and holds a field-leading 11 first-place votes. No. 2 Florida retained six top votes with No. 4 UCLA taking two and No. 5 Stanford earning one first-place vote.
The 14th Annual NFCA Division I Leadoff Classic takes place this weekend in Columbus, Ga., and the tournament features 11 teams appearing in this week’s Top 25. That list includes No. 1 Alabama, No. 6 Michigan, No. 13 DePaul, No. 14 Georgia, No. T-16 Louisiana-Lafayette, No. 18 Northwestern, No. 19 Southern Ilinois, No. 20 LSU, No. 22 UMass, No. 24 Ohio State and No. 25 Mississippi State. Four additional teams, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Houston and South Carolina received votes this week, placing 15 of the 21 Leadoff Classic teams in this week’s poll.
