Alabama takes over the top spot in this week’s USA Today/NFCA Division I Top 25 Poll, receiving 22 first-place votes. This is the second time the Crimson Tide has held down the No. 1 ranking in this poll, previously holding the spot last year on the May 2, 2007, poll. Northwestern moved up four spots, from sixth to second, following a 4-0 start that included wins over then-No. 1 Arizona and No. 3 Texas A&M.

The USA Today/NFCA Division I Top 25 Poll is voted on by NCAA Division I head coaches representing each conference. Records shown are through February 17, 2008. First-place votes are in parentheses.
