Arizona improved to 19-0 last week, and the lone unbeaten in Division I softball sits atop the USA Today/NFCA Top 25 poll for the fourth consecutive week.
Pac-10 rival California dropped the championship game of the National Invitational Softball Tournament to Arizona State, but edged out idle Stanford for the No. 3 spot.
UCLA retained the No. 4 position, and Michigan, winners of 21 in a row, entered the top five for the first time this season. Tennessee dropped two spots to No. 6. Just 11 points separates the Bruins, Wolverines and Lady Vols in the poll.
Louisiana-Lafayette won four games last week to remain seventh in the rating, while Oklahoma , which has won 25 straight, moved up to No. 8. The Sooners are followed by Alabama and Baylor to round out the top ten.
Texas remains 11th, while arch rival Texas A&M jumped up two spots to No. 12.Georgia remained 13th, Washington moved to No. 14 and LSU dropped three spots to No. 15 after dropping two games to South Carolina.
Florida improved to 16th, while Oregon State moved up to No. 17. The Beavers are followed by Big XII rivals Nebraska and Missouri, while Georgia Tech, which is 10-6 since a 13-0 start is No. 20.
The last five ranked teams are Arizona State, Florida State, Northwestern, Fresno State and Auburn. Auburn replaces Texas A&M-Corpus Christi in the poll, which dropped out after a 2-0 loss to Prairie View.
