USA Today/NFCA Division I Top 25 Poll
UCLA received 26 first-place votes to maintain the No. 1 position in the latest USA Today/NFCA Division I Top 25 Softball Poll, the association announced Wednesday.
The Bruins, 34-3 on the season, hold the spot for the second straight week after taking the No. 1 position from Texas, who received four first-place nods to rank second.
Arizona moved up to third, while Tennessee jumped two places to fourth after Alabama, who suffered its first two SEC setbacks of the season to LSU, dropped to fifth.
Stanford moved up one place to sixth, while California dropped a couple of places to seventh. Georgia continued its move up the top 10, advancing one place to eighth.
Oregon State fell one place to ninth, while fellow Pac-10 foe Arizona State stayed in the top 10 at No. 10.
LSU remained at No. 11, while Michigan, Louisiana-Lafayette, Washington and Texas A&M held steady at Nos. 12-15, respectively.
Northwestern moved up two places this week to No. 16, while Nebraska slipped one spot to 17th. Auburn advanced two spots to 18th, and Baylor held on to No. 19. North Carolina used a series win over Virginia Tech to move up two places to No. 20.
Louisville, Oklahoma, Fresno State and Florida claimed Nos. 21, 22, 23 and 24, respectively, while Southern Illinois moved into the poll at No. 25, the first ranking for the Salukis since the final regular season poll of 2005.
