The Arizona Wildcats improved to 28-0 and sit atop the latest release of the USA Today/NFCA Top 25 as the nation's lone unbeaten team. 

The Wildcats replaced Pac-10 rival UCLA, which dropped its first game of the season, a 3-2 decision to Oregon State. Arizona swept a three-game series from Missouri over the weekend. 

UCLA dropped to No. 2 while California remained third in the poll. Florida State went 8-0 last week and moved up one spot to No. 4, while LSU dropped an extra-inning game to South Carolina and fell to No. 5. 

Alabama jumped three spots to No. 6 after a three-game sweep of Tennessee. All three games were decided by one run. Oklahoma dropped to No. 7. The Sooners were followed by Georgia, Washington, Louisiana-Lafayette. Stanford and Michigan. 

Pacific made the biggest jump in this week's poll, sliding up four spots to No. 13. The Tigers defeated No. 3 California 2-1 and improved their record to 17-4. 

Tennessee dropped to No. 14 while Fresno State, Oregon, South Carolina, Oregon State, Florida and Nebraska rounded out the top 20. 

South Florida checks in at No. 21, while Baylor makes its 2004 debut at No. 22. The Bears are off to a 22-6 start, and won their only contest last week, a 7-0 victory over Texas State. 

The last three ranked teams are Arizona State, Texas and Georgia Tech. Northwestern, ranked 25th in last week's poll, fell 10 points behind Georgia Tech and dropped out of the poll.
