STARKVILLE, Miss. – After two weeks of parity, the Washington Huskies are once again the unanimous No. 1 team in the nation, according to the latest USA Today/NFCA Division I Top 25 poll released on Tuesday.
The Huskies (40-5) garnered all 30 first-place votes for the seventh time this year and have topped then poll in each of its 13 editions thus far.
The top five went unchanged this week, but just barely. Despite a 2-1 week from Arizona (40-8) and a 3-0 week from Alabama (42-9), all against Top 25 opponents, the Wildcats were able to edge the Tide by just six points. Michigan (40-6) came in at No. 2, while UCLA (36-9) rounded out the top spots in fifth.
For the second week in a row, no team exited or entered the top 25 rankings. However, another strong week kept DePaul (32-15) at the top of the “receiving votes” column, just 31 points behind No. 25 Florida State (41-15)
The USA Today/NFCA Division I Top 25 Poll is voted on by NCAA Division I head coaches, one representing each conference. The next USA Today/NFCA Division I Top 25 poll will be released Tuesday, May 11.
