STARKVILLE, Miss. – For the eighth time this season, the Washington Huskies are the unanimous No. 1 team in America, according to the latest USA Today/NFCA Division I Top 25 pollUSA Today/NFCA Division I Top 25 poll that was released on Tuesday.

The Huskies (40-5) garnered all 30 first-place votes for the second week in a row, thanks in part to a three-game sweep of No. 15 Stanford (33-17).

Michigan (44-6), Arizona (42-9), Alabama (45-9) and UCLA (38-10) all held onto their respective spots at two through five this week, but were joined by last week’s No. 6 team, Florida. After sweeping South Carolina and North Florida last week, the Gators (42-7) forced a tie at the fifth spot in this week’s poll with UCLA, who went 2-1 over the weekend versus No. 12 California

For a season-high third consecutive week, there were no additions or subtractions to the Top 25 rankings. However, DePaul did close the gap between itself and No. 25 Florida State by finishing just 14 points behind the Seminoles to lead the “receiving votes” column for a third straight week.

The USA Today/NFCA Division I Top 25 Poll is voted on by NCAA Division I head coaches, one representing each conference. The next USA Today/NFCA Division I Top 25 poll will be released Tuesday, May 18.
