NFCA Division II Top 25 Poll 

Humboldt State received seven of eight first-place votes to move back into the top spot in the NFCA Division II Top 25 Softball Poll, the association announced Wednesday. 

Humboldt used a stellar week at the Clash of Champions tournament, the squad only allowed one run, to move to 35-3 on the season and over-take the top spot for the first time since the preseason rankings. 

Florida Southern stayed at No. 2 in the rankings for the second consecutive week, while the top team the past two weeks, Emporia State, dropped to third. 

The remainder of the top five remained unchanged, as Southeastern Oklahoma held at No. 4 and Southern Illinois-Edwardsville at No. 5. Cal State Bakersfield moved up one spot to sixth, while Lock Haven jumped three places to No. 7. Barry moved one place into a tie for eighth with Columbus State, one of seven newcomers in this week’s rankings. 

Cal State Dominguez Hills dropped two places in the poll, but stayed in the top 10 at the No. 10 position. Nebraska-Omaha missed the top 10 by just nine points, moving up three places after debuting at No. 14 two weeks ago. 

Georgia College & State progressed one place to 12th, while LIU-C.W. Post re-entered the rankings at No. 13 after a two-week hiatus. Shippensburg also moved up in this week’s ratings, advancing six places to No. 14, one place better than newcomer Missouri-Rolla. 

Another team new to the rankings this week, Abilene Christian debuted at No. 16, while Lenoir-Rhyne dropped 11 places to No. 17. San Francisco State fell a place to 18th, tying for the position with newcomer Northwest Missouri State. 

Alabama-Huntsville moved its record to 31-11 overall and it showed in the poll as the team jumped two places to No. 20. Midwestern State 10 spots to No. 21, while Bloomsburg advanced one place to 22nd. 

Northwood and Caldwell both returned to the rankings at Nos. 23 and 24, respectively, while Incarnate Word dropped 10 places to the No. 25 spot.
