NFCA Division II Top 25 Poll
Humboldt State received five first-place votes to occupy the No. 1 spot in the NFCA Division II Top 25 Softball Poll for the second straight week, the association announced Wednesday.
Emporia State, the previous top team, received two first-place nods to move back into the No. 2 position after ranking third a week ago. The Hornets replaced Florida Southern, who fell one place to third.
SIU-Edwardsville moved up one spot to fourth, while Lock Haven advanced two positions to fifth. Cal State Dominguez Hills jumped four places to No. 6, while Georgia College & State moved into the top 10 at No. 7, a five-position leap from the previous poll.
Barry stayed unchanged at the No. 8 spot, while Midwestern State made the biggest jump in the poll, 12 places to No. 9. Cal State Bakersfield rounded out the top 10 after dropping four spots from its previous No. 6 ranking.
Nebraska-Omaha held steady at No. 11, while Columbus State dropped four spots to 12th. Caldwell moved up 11 places to No. 13, leaping in front of Shippensburg who stayed at No. 14. Abilene Christian and Lenoir-Rhyne both progressed one place, coming in at Nos. 15 and 16, respectively.
Alabama-Huntsville jumped three spots to 17th, while Northwood leaped five places into the top 20 at No. 18. LIU-C.W. Post dropped six places to 19th, tying for the position with a San Francisco State squad that fell one place.
Florida Gulf Coast moved back into the poll at No. 21, while SE Oklahoma State fell out of the top five down to a tie for 22nd with newcomer Washburn.
Bloomsburg dropped two places to No. 24, while newcomer Wingate rounded out the poll in the 25th position.
