NFCA Division II Top 25 Poll
Lock Haven received four first-place votes to remain atop the NFCA Division II Top 25 Poll
, the association announced Thursday.
LHU, which has jumped out to a 5-1 start on the year, came in six points ahead Alabama-Huntsville, who, at 21-6, stayed in the second position after leaping 10 spots a week ago.
Angelo State stayed at No. 3 as it received a first-place nod at 23-5. Columbus State also garnered a first-place vote as it stayed fifth, immediately behind Cal State Stanislaus.
SIU-Edwardsville moved up two places to No. 6 this week, while Emporia State dropped on notch to seventh. Valdosta State continues to roll as it jumps up another place to No. 8. Humboldt State dropped two notched to No. 9, while Lenoir-Rhyne debuted in the rankings at No. 10.
Hawaii-Hilo moved up five places to 11th, ahead of a Caldwell squad that advanced one place to 12th despite not having started the 2007 season. Gannon used a 12-2 start to the season to jump six places into a tie at No. 12, while newcomer Northeastern State debuted at No. 14 with a 13-3 mark on the campaign.
Another newcomer to the poll this week, Francis Marion premiers at No. 15 after receiving votes a week ago. Florida Gulf Coast, who is off to a 32-3 start, moved up five places to No. 16 a week after moving into the rankings.
Nebraska-Omaha slipped three places this week after staring the year 2-2. Florida Southern also dropped this week as the Moccasins fell six spots to No. 18. Shippensburg dropped to No. 19, and Lewis debuted at No. 20 to round out the top 20 positions.
The final poll rookie this week, St. Edward’s, came in at No. 21, just ahead of Georgia College & State who plummeted 11 places to No. 22.
Le Moyne and Barry tied for the 23rd position, and Northwest Missouri State stayed in the rankings at No. 25 after dropping three places.
