Lock Haven snagged six first-place votes to top the NFCA Division II Top 25 Poll
l for the fourth consecutive week, the association announced Wednesday.
The defending national champion has topped each of the polls this season as it has jumped out to a 13-1 start on the campaign.
The Lady Eagles have a new runner-up this week, as Columbus State moved into the second slot, an upward vault of three places. Humboldt State moved to 24-3 on the season, and the outstanding week jumped the Lumberjacks six places to third in this week’s poll.
Angelo State remained in the top five as it slipped one notch to fourth, and Florida Gulf Coast made this week’s biggest jump, receiving a first-place nod as it advanced 11 places to No. 5.
Emporia State moved up a spot to sixth, while Alabama-Huntsville dropped six places to No. 8 after coming in second the past two weeks. Cal State Stanislaus dropped five places to No. 9, while Lenoir-Rhyne held at No. 10.
Texas A&M-Kingsville worked back into the poll at No. 11, while Hawaii-Hilo dropped one place to No. 12. Valdosta State, Caldwell and Gannon round out the top 15.
Francis Marion slipped one place to 16th this week, while New Haven debuted in the rankings at No. 17. Shippensburg moved up one place into the No. 18 slot, while Northeastern State landed in a tie with Florida Southern for the 19th spot after a five-place drop from the previous week.
Nebraska-Omaha fell four places to 21st, while USC Upstate jumped back into the poll at No. 22. Lewis and St. Edward’s landed at Nos. 23 and 24, respectively, while Bloomsburg came back into the rankings at No. 25.
