NFCA Division II Top 25 PollNFCA Division II Top 25 Poll


The first regular season installment of the NFCA Division II Top 25 featured many changes from the preseason poll. 

Kennesaw State, which has sprinted to an 18-0 start, is the new No. 1 team in the nation. The Owls moved up eight spots from their preseason tabbing. Preseason No. 1 North Dakota State dropped to tenth. 

St. Mary's, off to a 16-3 start, remains No. 2 and received one first-place vote. Humboldt State jumped 12 spots to No. 3 after an 18-6 start. 

Tampa, which was unranked in the preseason poll, is off to an 11-2 start and is No. 4 in the latest poll. St. Cloud State moved up 11 spots and rounds out the top five. 

North Florida and Cal State Bakersfield are tied for the No. 6 position, while 2003 national tournament participants Shippensburg, LeMoyne and North Dakota State round out the top ten. 

Bloomsburg and Tarelton State share the No. 11 ranking and poll newcomer Florida Southern is ranked No. 13. Armstrong Atlantic remains No. 14, while Grand Valley State dropped four spots to No. 15. 

Four of the next five ranked teams are newcomers, led by undefeated Northern Kentucky at No. 16. The Norse are followed by Lynn, Nebraka-Omaha, Texas Woman's and UC San Diego. 

Alabama-Huntsville dropped three spots to No. 21. The Chargers share the ranking with Division II Leadoff Classic Emporia State. The Hornets are off to a 17-6 start. 

The last three ranked teams are Southern Illinois-Edwardsville, Georgia College and State University and Wayne State. 

West Florida, ranked No. 3 in the preseason poll, led a contingent of seven teams that dropped out. No. 12 Barry, No. 13 Angelo State, No. 21 California (PA), No. 22 Western New Mexico, No. 24 American International and No. 25 Cal State Dominguez Hills failed to make this week's poll.
