STARKVILLE, Miss. – For the fifth consecutive week, the undefeated North Georgia Saints are the top team in the nation according to the latest NFCA Division II Top 25 poll
released on Wednesday. The Saints once again garnered all 16 first-place votes in the poll, a feat they have now accomplished four times. The rest of the top five experienced quite a shakeup with two teams dropping out and two teams moving in. Valdosta St., went from fourth to second, while Midwestern St. jumped up four spots to move from seventh to third. Wayne St. (MI) moved from fifth to fourth this week and Alabama-Huntsville rounded out the first five spots by moving from sixth to fifth.
Falling out of the top five this week were Angelo St., who went from second to eighth and Hawaii Pacific who fell from third to sixth.
Central Washington made its Top 25 debut this week at No. 19 after not receiving any votes last week. Also new to the poll this week were No. 20 Molloy, No. 22 West Chester, No. 23 Augustana (SD).
Leaving the rankings this week were No. 17 C.W. Post, No. 21 Kutztown, No. 22 West Texas A&M and No. 24 Wayne St. (NE).
The NFCA Division II Top 25 is voted on by 16 NCAA Division II head coaches, two representing each of the eight NCAA regions.
The next NFCA Division II Top 25 poll will be released on Wednesday, April 6.
