Defending national runner-up Wisconsin-Whitewater remains at the top of the NFCA Division III Top 25 Poll
for the third straight week, the association announced Wednesday. UW-Whitewater is not set to open play until March 20.
For the second straight week, the top five remains relatively unchanged, with only Texas-Tyler making a slight drop into the No. 4 spot after being tied for the spot above a week ago. Emory continues its climb after a 15-1 start, jumping two spots to No. 6. With a 7-1 start, Willamette makes its first appearance in the top 10, up two spots from last week's No. 12 ranking.
Ohio Northern nearly cracks the top 10 in its first appearance in the poll this season, taking the No. 11 spot after a perfect 10-0 start. Tufts is the top New England region team, jumping two spots to No. 12 despite not having played. Most of the region begins play in the next week, including Tufts on March 15.
The 13th through 15th spots are occupied by three teams that were unranked a week ago, led by Christopher Newport at 4-0, and followed by John Carroll at 9-1 and Wartburg at 11-1. Messiah also makes the jump into the poll at No. 20 after starting 6-0.
York (PA) continues its climb as well, jumping four spots to No. 21 after an 11-3 start to the season. Previously unranked Linfield, Ursinus and Mississippi College take the next three spots, respectively, while Moravian rounds out the top 25 after starting 6-4.
