Defending national runner-up Wisconsin-Whitewater remains at the top of the first regular season NFCA Division III Top 25 Poll
, the association announced Wednesday. Most Division III programs have not begun play, with many opening games set for this week. The top six remains relatively unchanged, with only DePauw making a slight move into a tie for the No. 6 spot after being ranked No. 7 in the preseason poll. Emory, after an 11-1 start, jumps into the poll at No. 8 after beginning the season unranked.
Other big jumps include a couple of West region teams in Willamette, which is at No. 12 after a 4-0 start, and Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, at No. 17 after a 6-1 start. East Texas Baptist appears in the poll at No. 19 after starting 7-1, while York (PA) rounds out the poll at No. 25 after beginning with six straight wins.
