Lower Columbia received seven of a possible eight first-place votes as it tops the 2009 Northwest Athletic Association of Community College softball preseason poll. Mt. Hood received the remaining first place vote, ranking second in the preseason poll. 

Walla Walla, Wenatchee Valley and Clackamas round out the top five.
