Oklahoma City, ranked No. 1 in the preseason poll, is No. 1 in this week's NAIA Top 25 Rating, the first regular season rating of 2002. Oklahoma City (17-6) received 13 of 14 first-place votes for 349 points. Simon Fraser edged Union (Tenn.) by four points for the No. 2 spot. Simon Fraser (7-2) garnered 329 points, while Union (16-1), which received the remaining first-place vote, received 325 points.
