All three NJCAA national championships had to go to the "If" game, but when all was said and done, two of last year's champions repeated and a perennial champion returned to the top.

Under first-year head coach Mickey Dean, Lake City Community College (Fla.) won its first NJCAA Division I national championship since 1998, defeating Gulf Coast Community College (Fla.) 6-2 in the title game at Kissimmee, Fla. Lake City came through the loser's bracket and defeated Gulf Coast 4-2 to force a final game.

The NJCAA Division II championship is in only its second year of existence and Phoenix College (Ariz.) is already a two-time champion, defeating Lansing Community College 5-3 in the title game at Phoenix, Ariz. Host Phoenix had to win through the loser's bracket and defeat Lansing 3-1 to force a final game.

College of DuPage (Ill.) won its second consecutive NJCAA Division III national championship and third in the last four years, defeating host Anne Arundel (Md.) 8-2 in the championship game at Arnold, Md. College of DuPage won its way through the winner's bracket, but had to play a final game after falling to Anne Arundel 5-3.
