LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The first eight teams in the NFCA Spring High School Top 25 Coaches Poll remain unchanged this week, the Association announced on Thursday.
The rankings continue to be led by Alabama’s Orange Beach (46-1) and Louisiana’s Cavalry Baptist Academy (37-1), who both captured a sixth consecutive state title earlier this season.
No. 3 South Warren (41-0) is still undefeated heading into tonight’s Kentucky state tournament opener against Oldham County, while No. 4 Lake Creek (40-1) wrapped up its second straight Texas state championship — and third in four years — with a 6-5 victory over Brewer in last Friday’s Class 5A, Division 2 final. The Lions’ other two crowns during that span (2023, 2025) were both in 5A, before Texas split all but 1A among its classifications into two divisions this year.
Sixth-ranked Gray Collegiate (33-0) swept A.C. Flora in the best-of-three South Carolina 4A championship, winning 7-1 Thursday and 11-1 Friday.
Later today, No. 7 Destiny Christian (29-0) has a NorCal regional semi with Saint Francis and new-No. 9 Carterville (37-1) plays Williamsville in the Illinois 2A semis. On Friday, No. 12 St. John Vianney (28-0) and 16th-ranked Donovan Catholic (27-2) will have a rematch of their Shore Conference final — won 5-1 by the Lancers on May 21 — in the South Jersey, Group A championship, while No. 20 Mount St. Dominic Academy faces Immaculate Heart in the North Jersey, Class A final. On Saturday, No. 17 Caldera (28-1) plays Wilsonville in the Oregon 5A state final.
No. 18 Weddington (27-0) capped a perfect season with a sweep of D.H. Conley late last week in the best-of-three North Carolina state 7A finals series.
State rankings submitted by the NFCA High School Steering Committee are used to compile the NFCA Spring High School Top 25 Coaches Poll. Teams are chosen based on performance, roster quality and strength of schedule.
