LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Buford stayed perfect and remained No. 1 in the NFCA Summer/Fall High School Top 25 Coaches Poll for a third straight week.
The (25-0) Wolves added five more wins to their ledger, outscoring their opponents 52-13 over that span. That includes Saturday’s 13-1 triumph over then-No. 11 North Cobb. Buford is off until its game against Mountain View — a team they routed in two earlier meetings — on Tuesday.
Lincoln Southwest (25-2) and Van Meter (34-2) complete an unchanged top three, while former No. 1 East Coweta (20-3), Dale (19-2), Broomfield (15-2) and Millard North (27-4) all gained two places in the rankings after that.
No. 13 Lakewood won its ranked matchup with No. 22 Columbine, 15-8 last Thursday, while No. 24 Rock Bridge rolled past then-No. 14 Helias Catholic (18-5) 11-1 on Monday to salvage a 1-4 week which saw them fall 11 spots in the Top 25. The other ranked game saw 14th-ranked Raymore-Peculiar (16-4) gain some ground with a 5-4 victory over then-No. 20 Blue Springs South (15-10).
Idle Iowa schools were the big beneficiaries of losses throughout the Top 25, with state champions Northwest (34-4) and Clarksville (31-4) climbing nine and seven spots, respectively, long after their 2025 seasons have been in the books.
State rankings submitted by the NFCA High School Steering Committee are used to compile the NFCA Summer/Fall High School Top 25 Coaches Poll. Teams are chosen based on performance, roster quality and strength of schedule. Five states — Colorado, Georgia, Nebraska, Oklahoma and Missouri — play a fall fastpitch schedule, while Iowa recently completed its summer season.
