LOUISVILLE, Ky. – West Texas A&M broke the tie and is now the unanimous No. 1 in this week’s 2024 NFCA Division II Top 25 Coaches Poll. The Lady Buffs (33-3), who shared the top spot last week with North Georgia, took firm control of the No. 1 ranking by receiving all 16 first-place votes and 400 points.

WT’s move to the top was thanks in part to being the only top five team to not have suffered a defeat last week. The Lady Buffs swept Western New Mexico, outscoring the Mustangs 43-7, in their Lone Star Conference (LSC) road series. Last week’s share of No. 1 marked their first No. 1 ranking since the final poll of the 2021 season and first in the regular season since May 3, 2016.

No. 2 North Georgia, which split a neutral site doubleheader with Lee last week, fell out of the No. 1 position for the first time since March 14, 2023.

No. 3 Tampa and No. 4 Rogers State switched spots in the rankings. The Spartans (30-5) hit the 30-win plateau in their series win over No. 25 Nova Southeastern, while the Hillcats (29-5) went 3-1 Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA) action. RSU split with Central Missouri before sweeping Lincoln at home. UT and Rogers State had their respective win streaks of 18 and 16 games snapped.

UIndy and UT Tyler (31-7) remained at No. 5 and 6, while Colorado Christian and Central Oklahoma (28-6) each improved one position to No. 7 and 8. The sixth-ranked Patriots (31-7), seventh-ranked Cougars (33-4) and eighth-ranked Bronchos (28-6) swept their respective conference foes, while the fifth-ranked Greyhounds (32-3) went 3-1 in league action.

Grand Valley State (20-7) slipped to No. 9 after it split two Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference twinbills.

Pittsburg State took over the No. 10 spot as it improved to 36-4 after two MIAA sweeps. Wingate and Western Washington, who also went unmarked in conference play, each moved up one spot to No. 11 and No. 12.

Northwest Nazarene (26-7) climbed back into the top 20 at No. 19, while Rollins (29-8) entered as well at No. 20.

The 2024 NFCA Division II Top 25 Coaches Poll is voted on by the NFCA Division II Top 25 Poll Committee. The committee consists of 16 NCAA Division II head coaches with two representing each of the NCAA’s eight regions. Results are through Sunday, March 31.
