LOUISVILLE, Ky. — St. John Fisher’s Ainsley Evanetski and Texas Lutheran’s Serena Gonzalez claimed the latest Division III Wilson/NFCA Pitcher and Louisville Slugger/NFCA Player of the Week honors of the 2025 season on Tuesday.
Senior right-hander Evanetski was 2-0 for the week and fanned 14 in a perfect game on Sunday against Keuka. That followed a four-hitter on Saturday in which the Rochester, N.Y., native collected a career-high 18 strikeouts for her hometown university. In two appearances, she totaled 32 strikeouts with just one walk and four hits allowed over 14 innings.
Gonzalez, meanwhile, batted .833 (5-for-6) across three weekend victories over Schreiner. The junior designated player collected a double, two home runs and 10 runs batted in for the No. 6 Bulldogs. She had six RBI alone in the Sunday win over Schreiner, with her homer that game making her just the second player in school history (Haley Padilla, 24 from 2018-21) to have 20 for her career.
