LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Case Western Reserve’s Karen Potts and Calvin’s Brooke Hunderman claimed the latest Division III Louisville Slugger/NFCA Player and Wilson/NFCA Pitcher of the Week honors of the 2024 season on Tuesday.
For Hunderman, it’s the second straight honor. The Grand Rapids, Mich., native went 2-0 this week with a perfect game against Olivet, zero runs allowed and 24 strikeouts over 14 innings of action in the circle. The sophomore also walked just one over her two starts. Last week, she helped the No. 24 Knights charge into the Top 25 with a sweep of then-No. 1 Trine.
Potts, meanwhile, batted .643 for the 10th-ranked Spartans. The freshman shortstop had nine runs, three doubles, three home runs, six RBI and three steals to help pace Case Western’s four-game conference sweep of Brandeis. Potts had three multi-hit games, including a 4-for-4 effort in game two of the series.
