Type: drill

Purpose: This game tests physical skills and most importantly tests the team's ability to track and communicate situations and work together under pressure.

Explanation: The drill has one coach hitting fungo to a full field defense. Nine players in position. You can have "back up" players at any positions ready to jump in of course.

The coach hits a ball to any player (see below) and as soon as the requisite play occurs, the terminal player simply tosses the ball aside adn the coach hits another.

Here are the Rules as to where the ball goes:

Grounder to LF>3B

Grounder to CF>2B

Grounder to RF>1B

Catcher can call any OF GB to 4 (home) instead.

If that happens then the next ball to the INF is a double play ball ALL OF FLY balls to go 2B.

Anything past the OF goes to 3B- Use relya system proscribed.

ALL INF groundballs go to 1B

ALL INF bunts go to 2B

After a bunt:

3B: fake to 1, flip to SS covering 3B

SS: fake to 1, flip to 3B

2B: tag the runner, go to 4

1B: tag the batter-runner, go to 4

P: look R3 back, go to 1B

ALL INF linedrives go to 2B

COMMUNICATION is the key. EVERYONE must keep track of outs and innings and call them out consistently. If the caoch asks the out/inning situation and the answer is either wrong or inconsistent then we start over. Goal is 21 outs.
