DIVERSITY SCHOLARSHIP presented by the ELLA SPORTS FOUNDATION
The scholarship, created by the NFCA’s Diversity Committee, is awarded to a minority member coach who shows a commitment to working with minorities and growing the game of fastpitch in their communities and has a need for financial assistance to attend the Convention. Geri Ann Glasco Memorial Scholarship
This Scholarship Presented in Partnership with The Natasha Watley Foundation and The Glasco Family is awarded to a female member coach in her first five years of coaching who shows a commitment to growing the game of fastpitch in her communities and has a need for financial assistance to attend the Convention.It is dedicated to remembering Glasco, an aspiring coach and elite former student-athlete, who lost her life on Jan. 24, 2019 in Lafayette, La.
MARY NUTTER SCHOLARSHIP
The educational grant, named for the former Pittsburg State (Kan.) head coach and 1997 NFCA Hall of Fame inductee who founded National Sports Clinics, seeks to continue Nutter’s effort to provide softball coaches at all levels access to the best minds in the sport to help them become better coaches themselves. Recipients receive funding to attend the NFCA National Convention.HBCU SCHOLARSHIP
The HBCU Scholarship, presented in partnership with Major League Baseball, is awarded to a current Historically Black College or University (HBCU) coach who has a desire and need for financial assistance to attend the NFCA National Convention.
NATASHA WATLEY SCHOLARSHIP FOR SOCIAL CHANGE
The scholarship, created by the NFCA’s Diversity Committee, is awarded to a minority member coach who shows a commitment to working with minorities and growing the game of fastpitch in their communities and has a need for financial assistance to attend the Convention.
WADE J. BRUGGEMAN MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP FOR HIGH SCHOOL COACHES
Wade J. Bruggeman, the late father of current NFCA Executive Director Carol Bruggeman, spent his entire 38-year career as a high school teacher, coach, and principal in the state of Iowa. This scholarship provides a way for Wade to 'pay it forward' for high school coaches to assist with professional development. This scholarship is awarded to a high school member coach who combines a shared passion for education and coaching while showing a commitment to youth education and growing the sport of softball.
The NFCA (National Fastpitch Coaches Association) is the professional organization for fastpitch softball coaches. Known for its highly-regarded All-America awards and scholarship opportunities, the NFCA also educates and supports softball coaches on a variety of different levels: from podcasts to a comprehensive drills database, to in-person events and a National Convention.
